Putting Your Health First

As a mother, you know what your children need in order to be healthy and successful: Plenty of sleep, childrens vitamins and nutritious meals. It’s great that you’re making sure your kids are well-taken-care-of, but what about your health? Are you following the same regimen as your kids for a healthy life?

Sleep and Relaxation

Getting a full eight hours of sleep might seem like a pipe dream; after all, you have dishes to do, homework to help with and you’re pretty sure that the laundry hasn’t been touched since last week. Parents have busy lives. But if you’re not getting enough sleep, how can you continue to stay happy and successful?

  • Once you’ve tucked the kids in, take 15 minutes entirely to yourself. Don’t touch those dishes and keep your hands off of the clothes hamper. Sit, relax, and do absolutely nothing for the next quarter of an hour. You’ve been taking care of your family all day, Heaven knows you’ve earned a few minutes alone!
  • Make yourself a cup of herbal tea before going to bed. Tea has been a nighttime ritual all over the world for thousands of years, and it can help you relax and wind down after a stressful day.
  • Have you ever tried yoga? Doing certain poses before turning in for the night can help you calm down and be ready to get a good night’s sleep.

Vitamins and Supplements

Your children take their Flintstone’s Kids every day to help them get the nutrients they need, why shouldn’t you still be taking your vitamins too? Of course your needs are different from the little ones’, but your vitamins should grow with you.

  • A daily women’s multivitamin is a smart idea for every woman. They are chock full of the good things that help your body, hair and skin, plus they can help strengthen your bones.
  • CBD oil is the latest buzzword in the healthcare market. The hype is for good reason: Marijuana (THC and CBD both) contains many healing properties that can regulate many everyday and chronic ailments.
  • 100% cranberry juice is great for women’s plumbing. The antioxidants it contains help flush out the system and prevent urinary tract infections.

The busyness of a mother’s life never ends, but remember to take care of yourself first. Your health is the most important thing in the world, and putting yourself before others can help you best take care of your family.
